Written below are several of Katie Yochheim's teaching experiences.

Long-Term Choral Substitute Teacher at Rittman
Student-Teaching at Coventry
Katie Yochheim long-term subbed at Rittman Exempted Village Schools District in January and February of 2025. In this 6-week position, she taught a total of 8 classes per day. She led five different choirs in grades 6-12 and three high-school-level arts elective courses: History of Rock Music, Introduction to Theatre and Acting, and Music Technology. In her choir classes, Katie prepared repertoire, ran warmups, reviewed techniques, and taught students new musical concepts. She also coached two solo vocalist students and took them to Tri-County Solo and Ensemble in February; both students received high ratings. For her other classes, she taught content, led activities, inserted grades into Progress book, created assignments and slideshows, and facilitated class discussions.
Katie Yochheim completed her clinical practice student teaching experience with Adam Ballog at Coventry Middle School and Julie Strebler at Coventry High School in Portage Lakes, OH, during the fall semester of 2024 from August to December. She worked with 8 different choirs across grades 5-12 on various repertoire and skills and conducted several songs at their winter concert.
Director of Moondaze A Cappella
Katie Yochheim worked as the director of Baldwin Wallace's student-led Jazz and Pop A Cappella Vocal group, Moondaze A Cappella, from Spring Semester of 2023 through Spring Semester of 2024. Throughout this experience, she led rehearsals and sectionals, arranged several pieces, planned performances, led fundraising events, and recruited new members.
Baldwin Wallace Community Arts School Camp Counselor
Katie Yochheim worked extensively with Baldwin Wallace Community Arts School as a camp counselor at several different camps over the summer of 2022 and 2023. Some of her positions included:

Baldwin Wallace Teaching Assistant and Course Tutor
Katie Yochheim worked as a Teaching Assistant for Dr. Zarina Melik-Stepanova's Keyboard Fundamentals class in the Spring of 2024. She led lessons, small group activities, and full-class activities to instruct beginner students on the basics of piano proficiency. Katie also worked as a private course tutor in several Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Performing Arts classes, including Music History 2, Keyboard Levels 1-4, and Singers' Phonetics.
Substitute Teacher
In the Spring of 2025, Katie Yochheim worked as a temporary substitute teacher in several districts in the Akron area.
